How do I set up Microsoft 365 for my domain?

Complete guide to setting up Microsoft 365 Business email with your custom domain through webzworld.

What You'll Need

  • A domain registered with webzworld or any registrar
  • Your Microsoft 365 subscription (purchased through webzworld)
  • Access to your DNS settings

Step 1 – Add Your Domain in Microsoft 365 Admin

1. Go to admin.microsoft.com

2. Settings → Domains → Add domain

3. Enter your domain name and click Use this domain

Step 2 – Verify Domain Ownership

Microsoft will give you a TXT record to add to your DNS:

Name: @ | Type: TXT | Value: MS=msXXXXXXXX

Add this at your domain registrar's DNS panel. Wait 15–30 minutes, then click Verify in the Microsoft wizard.

Step 3 – Configure DNS Records

Microsoft's setup wizard provides all the records you need:

  • MX record (for email delivery)
  • CNAME records (for autodiscover, Skype for Business)
  • TXT records for SPF and DMARC

Add all of them to your DNS zone.

Step 4 – Create User Mailboxes

In Microsoft 365 Admin:

1. Go to Users → Active Users → Add a user

2. Enter name and set their username@yourdomain.com

3. Assign a Microsoft 365 Business Basic/Standard/Premium license

Step 5 – Access Email

Users can access email at:

  • Web: outlook.com/mail/yourdomain.com or outlook.office365.com
  • Desktop: Download Outlook and sign in with their Microsoft 365 credentials
  • Mobile: Add account in the Outlook app

Troubleshooting

  • Email not arriving: Check MX records are set correctly using mxtoolbox.com
  • Autodiscover not working: Verify CNAME records are propagated
