CloudScale Migration — Legacy ERP to AWS Microservices
Migrated a 15-year-old monolithic ERP system to AWS-native microservices, reducing infrastructure costs by 58% and cutting deployment time from 3 weeks to 2 hours.
The Challenge
Nexus Manufacturing ran a custom Delphi ERP on ageing on-premise servers. The system was slow, could not scale during month-end peak loads, and required a 3-week release cycle. One server failure caused 8 hours of production downtime. The CTO wanted zero-downtime deployments and 99.9% SLA.
Our Solution
We conducted a Strangler Fig migration: new modules were built as AWS Lambda + ECS microservices while the legacy system continued running. An AWS EventBridge event bus decoupled modules. Data was migrated progressively to Aurora PostgreSQL. CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline enabled blue-green deployments. CloudWatch dashboards with PagerDuty alerts replaced manual monitoring.
