Option 1 – Install via Softaculous (Recommended)
Softaculous is a one-click installer available in all webzworld cPanel accounts.
1. Log in to cPanel
2. Go to Softaculous Apps Installer (look for the WordPress logo)
3. Click Install
4. Configure:
- Choose Protocol: https:// (if SSL is active)
- Choose Domain: Select your domain from the dropdown
- In Directory: Leave blank to install at root, or type a folder (e.g. blog)
- Site Name and Description: Enter your website name
- Admin Username: Choose a strong username (avoid "admin")
- Admin Password: Use a strong password
- Admin Email: Your email address
5. Click Install
6. Installation completes in under 60 seconds. You will receive your WordPress admin URL.
Option 2 – Manual Installation
1. Download WordPress from wordpress.org
2. Upload files to public_html via File Manager or FTP
3. Create a MySQL database in cPanel → MySQL Databases
4. Rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php
5. Edit wp-config.php with your database name, username, and password
6. Visit yourdomain.com and complete the 5-minute install wizard
After Installation – Essential First Steps
- Install an SSL certificate (cPanel → AutoSSL)
- Delete the default Hello World post and Sample Page
- Install a security plugin (Wordfence or Sucuri)
- Install a caching plugin (WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache)
- Set up daily automated backups
