How do I point my domain to a different hosting provider?

Update your domain's nameservers or A record to point to any hosting provider.

Method 1 – Change Nameservers (Recommended)

Nameservers delegate all DNS management to your hosting provider.

1. Log in to your webzworld domain panel

2. Click on your domain name

3. Go to Nameservers

4. Replace the current nameservers with those provided by your new host

5. Click Save

DNS propagation takes 2–48 hours. Use dnschecker.org to monitor progress.

Method 2 – Update the A Record

If you want to keep DNS management with webzworld but host elsewhere:

1. Log in to your domain panel

2. Go to DNS Management / DNS Zone Editor

3. Find the A record for @ (root domain) and www

4. Replace the IP address with your new host's IP

5. Save changes

Which Method to Use?

  • Use nameserver change when moving everything (hosting + email) to a new provider
  • Use A record update when only moving hosting but keeping email with webzworld (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace)

Email During the Transition

If you have email configured, changing nameservers will break email unless you re-add your MX records at the new provider. Contact our support team before changing nameservers and we will help you plan the migration.

Propagation Check

After making changes, check propagation at:

whatsmydns.net or dnschecker.org
